"Take some time to learn first aid and CPR…It saves lives, and it works," said Bobby Sherman. That was certainly true for Mrs. Davis in 1997 when her landlord's husband's heart stopped and she acted quickly with other tenants by using what she learned. She and fellow tenants were able to restore his heartbeat for paramedics thanks to their quick action. Through her experience, one can confirm how important CPR training is and how one should learn it to save life whenever it is needed.

On January 11, CAG got the opportunity to learn through EMS Guatemala, sponsored by CHS. In the chapel, students, parents, and staff gathered excitedly, as they saw EMS staff bring equipment and notebooks for everyone. They first introduced the basics, such as the steps needed to identify and perform CPR. After learning the terms and processes, CAG got to experience them hand-to-hand through adult mannequins, baby mannequins, and automatic external defibrillator (AED).

Many students, such as Soo An Kim, stated, "I often think about how I would react if someone needed CPR, and throughout this CPR training, I got to learn more and have the confidence to use these techniques at least to try to save others' lives." Certainly, it was a great experience and lesson, for it could save anyone from an infant to an adult by using CPR and techniques to help someone, who is choking or needs first aid with COVID-19 or other kinds of contagious diseases.

After 3 hours of practice, the CAG community was definitely tired. Many underestimated the patience and resilience needed. However, through the long hours of training, the CAG community now has a broader opportunity to serve others while glorifying the Lord.
