The Christian Academy of Guatemala’s National Honors Society has opened the doors for new members to join. The NHS’s induction ceremony, held on the evening of March 16, introduced the new nine members to the organization. The select students portrayed traits such as good character, honorary scholarship, a heart to serve, and wisdom to lead: Gustavo Venegas, Lucy Suh, Daniel Rodrigo, Seth Patton, Minkyu Park, Joo Hee, Levi Davis, Harold Brubaker, and Izzy Pixcar. NHS has opened a new door to these students. As Joo Hee Lee, a new member of NHS, quoted, "There are a lot of things that I have not experienced yet, and I know that I lack a lot of things as a person. With this in mind, I hope I can learn how to improve myself not just as a student but also as a Christian while being part of the CHS. I am looking forward to it!".

The National Honor Society is an honorary organization for high school students who are outstanding in scholarship, leadership, service, and character, as mentioned in the induction ceremony. Scholarship is mostly about grades, but it is significant since it reflects one's character, like being persistent and having high standards, as stated by David Figueroa, a member of NHS.

Galatians 5:3 refers to having the heart of service by loving our neighbors as oneself, appreciating the things one has, and knowing one is not suffering alone. "Putting value in other people's lives would make the world a better place," expressed Da In, the secretary of the NHS.
Johnny, the vice president, presents leadership as the third pillar. He first defines it as "the action of leading a group of people," then adds that it is not only a position but an action that can make an impact and push others, done by a leader with a humble attitude and commitment to fulfilling goals.

Lastly, Rebekah Suh, the president, ends with character. Her key point was that filtering for emotions is necessary since it leads to maturity, and Christians must strive to be good servants with character through filtering, building, and maturing.

Following the explanation of the four pillars of the national honor society, the inductees line up and walk through the aisle lit by LED lights to shake hands with Mrs. Patton and receive their certificate. They then sign their names on the book, officially making them members of the CHS. To highlight their acceptance, the 2023 seniors presented them with cords, then the inductees lit the candles to signify their arrival as new lights. With that, the induction ceremony finished with pictures with the decorations, friends, and catch-up conversations while drinking coffee and eating donuts provided by the president, Rebekah Suh.
